What Is Bubble Text?
Bubble text is a bubble font style that uses Unicode characters to replace regular Latin letters and numbers with circled or boxed-looking symbols. These bubble letters come from the Unicode Enclosed Alphanumerics block (U+2460-U+24FF) and Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block. Unlike image-based bubble letter makers, this tool produces plain text that stays fully copyable — you can paste it directly into bios, chats, usernames, notes, and captions on any platform.
How to Make Bubble Text
Use this free bubble letter maker to convert any text in three steps. The tool runs entirely in your browser — no downloads or accounts needed.
- Type or paste your text into the input box above.
- Choose one of the four bubble text styles.
- Copy the generated result and paste it into your app, bio, message, or document.
Bubble Text Styles Explained
Each style uses a different Unicode character set, so coverage is not identical across all four options.
Circled
Circled is the most complete style. It supports uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and digits, which makes it the best default when you want the whole string to look consistently bubble-like.
Negative Circled
Negative Circled uses filled bubble characters for A-Z. Lowercase English letters are converted to uppercase automatically, while unsupported characters such as emoji or punctuation stay unchanged.
Squared
Squared uses outlined box-style Unicode letters. It works best for short labels, gamer tags, and headings where uppercase letters already fit the look you want.
Negative Squared
Negative Squared uses filled box letters. Like the other boxed styles, it supports A-Z only, so lowercase English text is normalized to uppercase before conversion.
How Bubble Text Works
This bubble font generator maps each ASCII letter and digit to its corresponding Unicode code point in the Enclosed Alphanumerics block. For example, the letter 'a' (U+0061) becomes 'ⓐ' (U+24D0) in Circled style. Characters beyond U+FFFF, such as Negative Circled and Squared letters, use supplementary Unicode planes and are handled with surrogate pairs. The conversion is instant and happens entirely in your browser — no server is involved, and your text is never transmitted.
Platform Compatibility
Most apps treat bubble text as normal Unicode characters, but the exact appearance depends on the fonts available on that platform.
- ✓Discord, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and iMessage usually display these characters correctly.
- ✓Word, Google Docs, Notes, and many CMS editors accept pasted bubble text as plain text.
- ✓Older devices or limited fonts may show some boxed characters differently.
- ✓Circled text has the broadest coverage because it includes lowercase letters and digits.
Where to Use Bubble Text
Bubble letters work best anywhere you want decorative text that still behaves like text when copied and pasted.
- ✓Instagram bios, captions, and story text
- ✓Discord usernames, display names, and channel titles
- ✓TikTok bios, comments, and profile copy
- ✓WhatsApp status updates and chat messages
- ✓iMessage, notes apps, and classroom worksheets
What This Tool Does Not Make
This generator only creates Unicode text. It does not turn your text into images, stickers, or rendered speech bubbles.
- ✓No speech bubble PNGs or transparent image assets
- ✓No comic-style chat bubbles or message screenshots
- ✓No GIFs, 3D lettering, or editable vector artwork
- ✓No non-Unicode transliteration for scripts outside basic Latin letters
Bubble Text FAQ
How do I make bubble text?
Type your text into the generator, choose a bubble style, and copy the result. The tool converts supported Latin letters and numbers into Unicode bubble characters instantly in your browser.
Can I use bubble text on Instagram and Discord?
Yes. Bubble text is plain Unicode text, so you can usually paste it into Instagram bios, Discord names, messages, captions, and similar text fields.
Is this a free bubble text generator?
Yes. The generator is free to use, works instantly in your browser, and does not require signup or downloads.
What is the difference between bubble text and speech bubbles?
Bubble text changes the characters themselves into Unicode circled or boxed symbols. Speech bubbles are graphic shapes or chat UI elements, usually created as images or design assets.
How do I type bubble letters in Word?
Generate the bubble text here, copy it, then paste it into Word. If a specific boxed character does not render in your font, switch to Circled for wider compatibility.
What characters are supported?
Circled supports A-Z, a-z, and 0-9. The boxed styles support A-Z only, so lowercase English letters are converted to uppercase and unsupported characters remain unchanged.
Why do boxed styles turn lowercase into uppercase?
Unicode only provides boxed versions for uppercase Latin letters in those ranges. To keep the output predictable, this tool converts ASCII lowercase a-z to uppercase before applying boxed styles.
Can I use bubble text in Roblox or Minecraft?
Roblox chat supports most Circled Unicode characters. Minecraft has limited Unicode rendering, so results depend on the server, client, and installed resource packs. Test with Circled style first for best compatibility.
Why does my bubble text look different on some devices?
Bubble characters are part of Unicode, but the way they look depends on the fonts installed on each device. Older phones, some Android skins, and limited-font environments may display certain boxed characters as empty squares or fallback glyphs.
Is bubble text the same as a Unicode font?
Not exactly. Bubble text replaces each letter with a different Unicode code point from the Enclosed Alphanumerics block — it is a character substitution, not a font change. The visual result resembles a bubble font, but it works in any text field without requiring the recipient to install a special font.
